Why are you afraid of terrorists?

When I was 10 years old the old folks (parents) around me were digging bomb shelters in their back yards. The Cold War threatened every one of us with the risk of instant nuclear annihilation. Today I hear we should live in fear of 11 guys with box cutters possibly crashing an airplane into an office building I don't work in.

What's wrong with this picture? Should we give up the civil liberties that so many of our predecessors have died for in the light of this seemingly trivial threat? What form of cowardice allows us to believe that an attack on America is a bigger problem today then it was 10 or 20 years ago?

Comments are welcome, let us know why you are feeling threatened.
